May the tale of the great migration of the Mormon people be here remembered and spoken of with love.  May all who come here be filled with a spirit of reverence as they recall the experiences of their forebears.  May the sprit of solemnity rest upon them”   -
President Hinkley May 3. 1997

Trekking at Martins Cove and on the Historic Trail is a privilege.  All youth will be required to be respectful of others and follow the rules set forth by Martins Cove/ Willie Center:

1.      Be respectful of all missionaries, leaders, ma’s and pa’s and other youth.
2.      Wear only approved pioneer clothing, throughout the trek. Follow clothing guidelines.
3.      Bring only those items listed on the equipment list.
4.      No electronic devices such as IPODS or cell phones are allowed on the Trek, even if their intended purpose is to be “used as a camera.”  You will need to bring a dedicated point and shoot camera if you want to bring a camera.
5.      Stay with your “family” at all times.  Trek with your family, Eat with your family. Sleeping arrangements are by family.
6.      Know the daily schedule – your ma and pa will keep you updated.
7.      Stay on the Trail.  Do not venture away from the trail to climb hills.
8.      Handcarts must always stay on the rail.
9.      No talking while in the sacred places such as at Martins Cove and Rock Creek Memorial area.
10.  No littering.  There are no trash cans at Martins Cove or at Willie Center – all trash must be carried back to Grand Junction with us.
11.  Respect the Handcarts.  Damage to handcarts will have to be paid for by the Stake.
12.  Leave wild life alone.
13.  Quiet time is 10PM to 6 AM
