Packing Guidelines

Grand Junction 2012 Pioneer Trek Packing Guidelines

1.  Insure you have all of the items listed on the website,  www.arisetrek.blogspot.com.
2.  Pack items listed in your bucket or duffle bag per the instructions on the website.
3.  Duffle bags (DB) will be reasonably durable but they are not army type.  Don’t drag them around by the strings or throw them around or use them for “pillow fights”.  Don’t over stuff them or use undue force to get extra items in them.  After you have packed your DB, tie a slip knot at top and stuff the excess paracord in the opening at top of DB.
4.   You may decorate your DB as you please provided it is tasteful and meets “Strength of Youth” standards.  Be creative!!
5.  Your bucket will serve as your rest stool on the trail and in the camp.  Again they are reasonably durable but should not be abused.  Would be a good ideal is you made yours unique and easily identifiable.
6.  On trek, buckets will need to be stacked at least in twos to have adequate room in the cart for them and the other cart items.  See model cart.
7.  Tents-Each family will have two 6 man tents, and 1 3-4 man tent.
            a.  First night families will sent up their tents and will take them down in the AM.
b.  2nd Night:  Equipment team will set up tents and take down in AM.
c.  3rd Night:   Equipment team will set up tents and help families take down AM.
